  • Transient electrochemistry coupled with pulse radiolysis

Main results:

  • Creation of methylviologene redox intermediate produced by a picosecond electron accelerator. Simultaneous detection by transient absorption and transient electrochemical techniques of the methylviologen radical cation.
  • Study of reactivity of a guanosine radical created by a radiolytic electron pulse both by spectroscopic and electrochemical methods.  The emphasis of competition between oxidation and reduction of the guanosine radical; an important result to further analyze the degradation or repair pathways of DNA bases.
